About the event

In this art-focused day, kids will explore Canyon Rim Park like artists and gather inspiration from every leaf, shadow, and stone. We’ll start things off with a walk through the park, collecting natural materials like pine needles, grasses, sticks, and stones to create with.

Using homemade charcoal, berries, soil, and water, (in addition to the materials we find) we’ll mix our own natural paints. Kids will design their own artwork inspired by what they see and feel around them — whether it’s a tree swaying in the wind or the layered lines of the Wasatch foothills.

This day is about getting messy, expressing freely, and seeing the outdoors as a place where imagination can run wild. We’ll have time for hiking around the park, lunch and snack breaks, and group reflection at the end of the day. No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
